WHO IS MR. HENRY????
After growing up in the small town of Penobscot, Maine and attending George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill, ME, I attending the University of Southern Maine right here in Gorham. When I first came to USM, I majored in communication with hopes to one day become a sports broadcaster. At USM, I played baseball for four years, and began to broadcast basketball and hockey online.
Near the end of my time at USM, I decided that working with kids (both through sports and in the classroom) was the right path for me to follow. After I graduated USM, I entered the ETEP program at USM. I completed two semesters worth of student teaching right here at Great Falls (3rd and 5th grade), and eventually got hired as a 3rd grade teacher the following year. A few years ago, I moved to 4th grade. This current year will be my fourth year in 4th grade.
During the year, I still play a variety of sports and umpire baseball during the fall, spring, and summer. Last fall I even started to officiate volleyball. Some things I like to do in my free time (if I have any) are: go to the beach, play sports, watch sports, cook, visit my family, hike, get outdoors, and hang out with my friends.
At school, I like to bring my athletic background and positive energy into the classroom. I love to provide my students with many opportunities to use teamwork while learning. Students in my classroom will engage in a variety of activities where they are constantly developing teamwork and other positive character traits.
